Habitat ReStore

Written on April 24, 2008. Written by lorene.

I was reading an article about raised garden beds and they mentioned Habitat for Humanity ReStores. It’s kind of like a Goodwill for building supplies and furniture. Nifty! The Morris County one is in Mine Hill.

Target’s DIY GO: International

Written on April 17, 2008. Written by lorene.

I was in Target last night and I noticed they have some new lines. They are doing a “Limited Edition” collection in handbags. They are also doing an in house GO: International Line. I think I read that this will be a filler line in between the designer Go: International lines. It was pretty cute […]

Online Shoe Shopping Tip

Written on March 18, 2008. Written by lorene.

I recently discovered a new shoe shopping trick. I love Endless.com because they have lots of shoes and free overnight shipping and free returns. However there was $260 pair of shoes I really wanted but didn’t want to pay $260 for.  I decided if they went below $100 I’d buy them. Around christmas they were […]

Photobooks

Written on December 27, 2007. Written by lorene.

My mom and I were discussing having a photobook made of the photos from our road trip. I’ve used iphoto for my New Zealand book, which turned out great. She mentioned a coworker likes mypublisher. I see blurb on flickr. What to do?
I came across this page which does a bit of a price comparison:

TopShop NYC

Written on November 28, 2007. Written by lorene.

This isn’t exactly new news but I figured I should share anyway. Topshop has finally found a space for it’s first store in the US. Soho! The address is 478 Broadway. This is right near another import that I love, UNIQLO, which is at 546 Broadway. They’ve been talking about opening a NYC store for […]

Century 21 how do I love thee?

Written on September 6, 2007. Written by lorene.

I went to Century 21 in Morristown yesterday after work in search of a bridal shower gift for saturday. I wanted to buy my friend a pretty chemise but was either finding crappy ones for $50 or beautiful ones that cost $200 more than I intended to spend. Goal accomplished. I found a very pretty […]

Adventures in Online Shoe Shopping

Written on August 27, 2007. Written by lorene.

I *heart* shoes. So a few years ago when zappos.com came on the scene I was in love. I could order shoes and they’d be there the next day! No more finding the perfect shoe but them not having your size.
I think the romance is over.
The thing with zappos is that they charge slightly over […]

A lesson in attractive packaging

Written on July 10, 2007. Written by lorene.

I’ll admit that I’m a suck for good packaging. Ask anyone in the cosmetic industry and you’ll learn just how important packaging can be.
When I received my order from Piperlime, Gap’s new online shoe store, I was delighted by the packaging. Good packaging makes a purchase seem like a special gift. Even when I shop […]

Patrick Robinson at Target

Written on May 18, 2007. Written by lorene.

I was at Target today and I got to see the Patrick Robinson line for GO: International. It’s fabulous! This is probably one of my top 2 favorite GO collections so far. It’s very summery and boho but with interesting fabrications.
My favorite piece is an eyelet dress. It’s $30 and comes in black and white. […]
