Life Logging
I was listening to On The Media on NPR this morning and there was a segment on life logging. Life logging is a concept where you digitally archive all of your conversations, documents, photos, etc. There is a researcher from Microsoft who wears a camera around his neck that takes a photo of what he’s […]

Email “Sounds”
Quite often I’ll hear friends, family and coworkers talk about how an email or IM sounded. As in..sounded angry or pissed off. I usually point out the problem with this…emails don’t have sound. So it’s just their interpretation of it and not worthing getting upset over. Unless someone uses some meta tags and prolific […]

NYTimes article on Women Owned Businesses
There is an interesting article in the NY Times about a challenge to get women owned business to $1M in revenues. The most telling thing in it is that most female owners’ goals are to “maintain the business” while male owners’ goals are to “grow the business”.

$14500 Dessert - Cheats to Gain Most Expensive Title
The Fortress Resort in Sri Lanka is claiming the title (and tons of free press) of world’s most expensive dessert. However in my mind it’s cheating if you throw say…..a $14,490 jewel into your dessert. Inedible “ingredients” shouldn’t count.
Sorry Sri Lanka. Same goes for those $10000 martinis that come with rubies and such. No […]

US Dollar TANKS!!
The Euro reached an all-time high against the dollar today - $1.40. Even worse $1usd = $1cad. This sucks..I don’t foresee traveling outside the US anytime soon. Remember the time when Canadian dollars were like monopoly money? Ahh..the good old days.

6 years ago today
This was written the evening of September 11, 2001.
I can remember thinking about my day ahead as I walked down 23rd street this morning. I’d go the gym, and then get home in time for open mic night at Ristra. I walked into work at 8:45, the same as always, and sat at my desk […]

Leona leaves billions to charity
Recently all the headlines have been about Leona Helmsley leaving $12M to her dog, Trouble. They also eagerly point out that she only left $10M to her son and cut two grandchildren out entirely. However what they never focus on is that she left the bulk of her multi-billion dollar estate to charity. So good […]
