Skunked!

Whoa! I just narrowly missed getting sprayed by a skunk in my backyard.  I put some solar spotlights out in the back patio and I wanted to see what they looked like. We have motion sensor lights on the back deck which take forever to turn off so I walked around from the front. As I get in the backyard I see a skunk walking along the back edge of our property. The white streak on it is really wide. So I stood still and waited for it took keep walking. Then I walked around to where the patio is. I hear a rustle along the side fence and expect to see I’ve awakened one of the cats. Instead I see a big white butt and tail in the air. SKUNK!!! And I spooked it.

I haven’t run that fast in a very, very long time.  Skunks are horrible. When I was in high school our dog got skunked and made everyone in the house smell too. You got used to it so we didn’t notice we smelled but in school people would be like…what smells. D’oh. We smelled a lot less than our dog though.
