THE GOOD STUFF:  Apple did a great job with their built in apps. They all work great on the iPad and make the best use of it’s screenspace.  I also think most of the iPad specific apps are fantastic. I have Pages and Sketchbook PRO and they work great. Even the keyboard works well for typing. My only issue is my long nails and trying to hit keys on the bottom row.  The screen also looks amazing. I can’t wait to put the photos for my next trip on here to show family and friends. The Netflix streaming app is fantastic.

THE MEH STUFF:  My only major issue is the the desktop organization. Once you have a lot of apps you have to flick through pages and pages trying to find what you want. I am trying to organize my apps by types so at least I know what page I want, but really this needs to be totally redone. It works on my iphone but feels totally clunky on the iPad.  My other issue is with Photos. If I take this as my only travel computer I want to be able to upload photos to Flickr and Facebook like I can in iPhoto. I need a Hulu app.

OBSERVATIONS: For all that the iPad only weighs 1.5lbs it still has heft in your hand. Although maybe I’m too used to an iphone. My other computer is a 24″ iMac, so I really appreciate being able to do some computing and not being tied to my desk. It’s great for doing some web stuff and watching tv.  I brought my iPad to the family Easter gathering and everyone wanted to play with it. Including my cousin, who forgot to sign out of his facebook account (muhahaha).

I’m currently planning to make/buy a case and get the camera connection kit. I will also probably want some sort of collapsible stand.

Apple is going to be announcing their iPhone 4.0 OS very soon and I’m hoping that the desktop problem gets fixed.

I think geotagging is a really good concept, but to do it manually is way too much work. I am somewhat skeptical about how well it will work with having to use wifi connections. So while I am interested I’ll definitely be waiting for some reviews before I purchase.

This relates to me in an odd way. We’ve been cleaning out the basement and I’ve found a bunch of papers and stuff from high school and college. Now it’s largely stuff that is sentimental and yet I don’t actually need to physically posses. So I’ve been planning on photographing/scanning it all. That totally fits into the life logging concept.  I came across a letter to the editor I wrote to the Daily Record in 1996. It was a response to an article that said women don’t know how to program.

I had already pretty much decided to try blurb, but that sealed it. I might want to try Lulu someday since you create your own layouts and that’s really desirable sometimes. It would be great for people who want hard copies of their digital scrapbooks.

Speaking of fashion victims I have one for you! I was recently at a party in soho when I spotted this disaster. I believe she was wearing one of the Gap “Design Edition” dresses – this one by Thakoon. It looked like she took a large, somewhat sheer, white tent and loosely belted it low on her hips. The sleeves were also completely unflattering. Unfortunately I didn’t get the red pumps in the shot. I wish it was brighter but I couldn’t use the flash in such close proximity.

Sad. However I did order Guitar Hero II for xbox360. Hopefully brown santa delivers it before I have to leave for the airport on friday. I don’t actually own an xbox360 so I need to play it on my brother’s.

Oops…wrong Q!

After ordering it last Monday and calling customer service a few times my Motorola Q is on its way. Woohoo!

So now that I’m IN for Verizon all you Verizoners can call me all the time for free. Well not all the time, ok?

 An interesting not on this store is that I just got an email from a verizon rep names “ParisNicole”.
