Eye-fi gets better
When they introduced the Eye-Fi sd cards last year they seemed really cool. However after reading reviews I decided it just wasn’t the right time to get one. The next versions would be much improved. They’ve just released three new models and I think waiting was justified. The new models are the Eye-Fi Home ($80) that lets you wireless upload to your computer; the Eye-Fi Share ($100) that seems to be similar to the original Eye-Fi but now has “WebShare” to connect you with different services; and the one that interests me the most is the Eye-Fi Explore ($130). The Explore card has built in geo-tagging and one year’s free hotspot access.
I think geotagging is a really good concept, but to do it manually is way too much work. I am somewhat skeptical about how well it will work with having to use wifi connections. So while I am interested I’ll definitely be waiting for some reviews before I purchase.
