hiking the lenape trail
I spent a few hours on saturday hiking at South Mountain Reservation. Vanessa picked out this hike – which did parts of the Lenape and Rahway trails. It was a pretty nice hike. It’s close to houses and the waterfall is near a road, but once you are in there it’s pretty remote. The terrain is varied, and we only saw about 3 people on the trail. Although we did see quite a few people (with dogs) on the bridle paths. It took us about 3.5 hours with a stop at the waterfall for lunch and it had a few steep climbs but it wasn’t too hard.
I have no hiking boots so I ended up with a nice blister. I need to get to campor to pick some up! Too bad everytime I want to go it’s sunday. Damn Bergen County Blue Laws!
